Challenge Coins Today

Challenge coins today stand for already a lot of things and teams. These coins actually first started during World War I for the United States Army Air Service. They were the first group of people and were the only group of people who were using challenge coins during this time. But what do they use these coins for? First and foremost, during this time, these coins were used as a reward. It serves as a reward for those people who have done excellent jobs. But most of all, these challenge coins served a greater purpose. And that purpose is team spirit. A person belonging to the same team is given one challenge coin each. These challenge coins serve as their identification so that other groups and teams know which team they belong in. More importantly, it gives one team a sense of camaraderie and a stronger bond with each other. It helps them stand out among the other teams which are also in the military.

But these days, these challenge coins serve as more than just something that would differentiate one person from another person belonging in a different team. These challenge coins are also being used in most organizations, firms, teams, groups, enterprises and companies. They serve more than just an identity. Most of the time, these challenge coins are actually used in order to boost the work morale and enthusiasm of employees. Most people actually make use of these coins as a reward system in order to motivate their employees into working a lot harder and to provide extraordinary results and outputs.

Employees on the other hand, get happy and excited with the thought of their efforts being recognized, so in return, they work hard and put extra effort into what they do in order for them to have the opportunity of having their very own challenge coin. Challenge coins these days also follow a certain order which distinguishes its value. For example, bronze challenge coins are less valuable than silver challenge coins and the gold challenge coins are the most valuable among the three. Challenge coins these days could also be easily customized, giving more reason for employees to get excited about getting their very own. Not only does it serve as a purpose of recognizing their efforts for a job well done, but who knows? These challenge coins may also be a basis of their next promotion!
